SUMMARY:Tie Dye Class
DESCRIPTION:If you enjoy the art of tie dye you will love this CTI class. We will have a guest teacher for this class\, Cat Kaner\, a CTI member’s parent and also a tie dye expert. Cat will teach the group many different techniques for how to roll your white item into various patterns. All supplies will be provided\, though participants are encouraged to bring their own old white items. Cat is a firm believer in up-cycling and reusing\, and as a result she asks that everyone bring something white that might be stained or not in perfect condition anymore. She will help you give that item (whether it be a shirt\, pillow case\, pair of socks) a second life through the use of tie dye. Please wear clothing that you don’t mind getting messy in (aprons to protect your clothes will be supplied).

DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, Meg Schofield will be unable to teach yoga and mindfulness for the next few months due to injury. Luckily\, we were able to find a wonderful replacement–Tonya Salerno will take over teaching Meg’s classes. She will break the class up into two parts: one part yoga and one part mindfulness\, meditation and deep breathing.\n\nTonya has over 25 years of experience teaching individuals of all ages and abilities. She believes yoga should be accessible to every human\, creates a safe and supportive environment and brings a deep understanding of the practice of yoga and mindfulness both on and off the mat. Tonya is licensed by world renowned Yoga for All Abilities and is certified by Yoga Alliance as E-RYT 1000. She is a mother to two amazing children and\, in her free time\, enjoys dancing\, hiking\, art and reading.

DESCRIPTION:Accessible Martial Arts is run by Easterseals of Massachusetts\, a nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of programs and services to disabled children and adults\, including therapy\, recreation\, employment support and assistive technology. \nAnyone who wants to take this class will gather at CTI to take the class together. This class will be held virtually by the Easterseals organization and put on a screen at the Cotting Transition Institute\, with in person CTI staff there to physically assist with each martial arts move if needed. DESCRIPTION:This event is cancelled\, please see the March date if you are interested in climbing with us. \nJoin us at the Cotting School Campus Center Rock Wall to get the chance to use this state of the art wall to practice your rock climbing skills. CTI is very lucky to have Cotting School’s rock climbing team (Marcie Garon\, Dave Largenton and Jim) around to help us use all the adaptive equipment to get on the wall. No experience or equipment required\, please just come dressed in comfortable athletic attire and close-toed sneakers. Staff are trained in all types of adaptive climbing\, from light physical assists to paraclimbing where they get you out of your wheelchair and into an adapted seat to go up the wall in. All participants must have a rock climbing waiver filled out before they are able to get on the wall. This waiver will be emailed out at a later date.

SUMMARY:Chinese New Year Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Chu Ling\, who founded Chu Ling Dance Academy in 1998\, has been a performer and advocate for the arts for over 40 years. As a dancer\, choreographer\, producer\, arts administrator and teacher\, she has worked with multi-age performance groups on various types of dance. Chu Ling and her group of dancers are excited to perform various traditional Chinese dances\, such as scarf dances and ribbon dances\, and teach participants about Chinese New Year\, explaining the importance of each type of dance. They will also teach participants to dance with them\, giving them their own scarves or ribbons to dance with! This will be followed by the opportunity to taste traditional Chinese New Year foods\, learn more about the holiday and socialize. Families of participants are welcome at this event–the more the merrier!
