Daily Living Skills: Public Transportation
Daily Living Skills is designed to support the development of the capabilities needed for independent living. The curriculum strengthens transition skills and executive functioning, including decision making and the ability to organize the steps and sequences needed to complete various tasks. Participants will learn essential travel skills, including reading schedules, using a Rideshare App, planning routes, purchasing fares, recognizing landmarks and bus stops, practicing safe pedestrian skills and responding to unexpected situations in a hands-on, adapted setting. The lesson will be tailored to participants’ individual learning styles, abilities and travel preferences.
This class will be taught by CTI Program Manager Erika Cain.
