Passover Seder
Whether you are familiar with the holiday of Passover or learning about it for the first time, come join our interactive Passover seder! Together we will explore the story of Passover, participate in a welcoming, hands-on retelling and learn about the different foods and traditions on the seder plate. And we will do this in a fun way by hosting a chocolate seder! Never heard of one before? A chocolate seder is like a regular seder but all the items on the seder plate are chocolate versions of the traditional food items. (Examples: Instead of a lamb shank bone, we will have drumstick ice creams)
We will follow up the chocolate seder with eating some traditional Passover foods for lunch, asking questions and discovering the meaning behind each ritual. Participants will help read parts of a simplified Haggadah and take part in the traditions together. Everyone will also receive a take-home guide to the Passover story and traditions to share with friends and family. If you have any food allergies or restrictions, please let us know so that we can make sure to have something there that you can eat. This event will be led by Jennifer Stone, who is the Project Director for the Dorot Foundation and holds a masters degree in Jewish Education from George Washington University.
